COLLABORATIVE PROJECT

Collective Body is a research project in art, education and new media designed by Patricia Azevedo (UFMG | BR) and Clare Charnley (LMU | UK). Conceived as a collaborative activity, it gives visual form to a series of experiments involving students in art, design and communication of five universities in three continents.

The program works as a game. Experiences are constructed through a dialogue with the other. The motivation is a desire to participate in a shared experience of creating, articulating ideas and actions around a theme that forms a conceptual field to be explored by everyone. Each year, approximately 40 participants develop projects in partnership with people they previously did not know, communicating in English and facing the contingencies of real life and not the dynamics of the controlled and predictable institutionalized educational practices.
